I was wrong.

Sort of

So I was actually really close with my top 5 artists. I had predicted Shenseea/Disturbed for #1/2 (I really didn’t know who’d come out on top, but my Jamaican queen pulled through), then Tori Amos, Foo Fighters, and either Doechii or Coi Leray. My actual results were Shenseea, Disturbed, Doechii, Tori, and Foo Fighters.

However I was very wrong about my top 5 songs. (I had predicted only two correctly, and they happened to be #1 and #2.) The Teacher, which I expected to be #1 but it was only #6, possibly due to its being 11 minutes long, was a miss on my part. My actual #1 was Down With the Sickness by Disturbed, which I expected to be in top 5 but not #1. (My husband disagrees. He said, “you listen to that song nonstop.”)

#2 was The Sound of Silence by Disturbed, which I also expected to be top 5. #3 was a total surprise—Rob Zombie’s Dragula. What can I say, it’s good workout song. But—ROB ZOMBIE? Really?

My next songs in the top five were by Doechii—What’s your Name and Alter Ego. Shenseea had her first entry at #8, but with 21 songs in my top 100, it’s no surprise she’s my top artist. I need to do a concert review soon. Also for Doechii, who I saw in November 2023—Disturbed is the only artist in my top 5 I haven’t seen live.
